Space
Between

‘Space Between’ explores how forms of isolation vary in different environments, how disconnection, in a well-connected world, affects both the physical and mental sides of loneliness. One character feels lost in silence and sparseness, the other in noise and crowds. Despite technology connecting them, they don’t truly reconnect. He’s overstimulated and addicted to a stream of content and dopamine. He’s emotionally numb, surrounded by people, while void of meaningful relationships. His isolation is internal and hidden in plain sight. She’s present, grounded and seeking connection while geographically and socially secluded. Her isolation is defined by silence and longing.

The dropping signal is the narratives backbone, showing how connectivity isn’t about network strength, rather emotional presence. It shows that without presence, relationships degrade, not from distance, but neglect and disconnection masked by technological connectivity. The distortion (yet to be added) symbolises the deterioration of the relationship and intensifying loneliness. It rejects polished perfection to promote honest, imperfect storytelling.
