Relics of Sentiment
Relics of Sentiment is a virtual time capsule, a 3D forest environment built and animated in Blender. It contains a collection of photogrammetry scanned physical media devices given to me by family throughout my life. Each object is weathered, overgrown and slowly being reclaimed by nature.
The project explores the idea that sentiment outlasts the formats that carry it, while hinting at the broader cultural resurgence of analogue forms. The capsule is buried in a real forest. Access requires a DNA match confirming family relation. Its coordinates are addressed to a future member of my family, carrying this chain of sentiment through generations.
